Comparison

JobNext vs Joblogic vs Archdesk for GCC contractors

JobNext is an FM and construction ERP built for GCC contractors. Joblogic describes itself as field service management software covering jobs, scheduling, assets and invoicing. Archdesk describes itself as a construction ERP with a field service module. The right choice depends on whether your core need is field service, construction project control or FM with GCC requirements.

This comparison uses each vendor's own public description at the time of writing. We have not tested Joblogic or Archdesk, and we make no claims about their pricing, performance or customer satisfaction. Check each vendor's site and ask for a demo of your own scenarios. JobNext is our product, so read the JobNext column with that in mind.

"Confirm with the vendor" means we have not found a public statement we are willing to rely on. It does not mean the capability is missing.

When a field service tool fits

A field service product suits a business whose work is a stream of jobs: dispatch an engineer, complete a visit, record it and invoice it. If your main problem is scheduling engineers and keeping job and compliance records tidy, a tool built around that flow is a reasonable starting point.

When a construction ERP fits

A construction ERP suits a business running projects with budgets, subcontractors and valuations, where cost control by project is the central need. Archdesk describes itself this way and also lists a Service Management module for work orders, dispatch and preventative maintenance, so it may suit a contractor that does both project and service work. Check how strongly each candidate handles project cost, certification and the service side.

When JobNext fits

JobNext is aimed at FM and contracting companies in the GCC that want maintenance, workforce, procurement and finance in one ledger. It fits when these are true:

  • You maintain customer-owned assets and need an asset register with PPM and work orders.
  • You bid soft-services or catering contracts and want the number built from menu, PAX, manpower and plant.
  • You run attendance and payroll across several sites with biometric and mobile punches.
  • You operate several legal entities and need VAT and multi-company reporting.

How to run the evaluation

Write three scenarios from your own operation before you book any demo. For example: a quarterly chiller service that finds a defect, a month-end attendance run across several sites, and a bid for a catering contract. Ask each vendor to walk through the same three. Compare what stays inside the system and what goes to a spreadsheet. Ask every vendor to walk through the same three scenarios live, and note what they can show you.

What we have not compared

We have not compared price, implementation time, customer support, mobile apps or integrations, because we cannot do it fairly from public information. Those are the points to settle in your own trial. Ask each vendor for references in your region and trade.

Questions to put to all three

  1. Show a chiller's PPM schedule being generated and a technician completing a visit on mobile.
  2. Show how a logged service reaches an invoice.
  3. Show VAT, multi-company and Arabic handling in the region you work in.
  4. If Saudi Arabia is a market, show a ZATCA test invoice cleared. JobNext's published materials do not state Phase 2 integration, so ask us the same question.
  5. Ask what it takes to migrate your assets, staff and chart of accounts, and who does it.
  6. Ask what stays outside the system.
